When my son Travis was diagnosed with ALS at the age of 22 we had no room in our small frame home to modify.  However, we had been planning to build an addition so we made it as accessible as we could.  Local contractors insisted that a dam'less shower could not be done, so I enlisted the help of a few of Travis' friends and we built the bathroom in the pictures attached.  It had a cathartic effect on all of us.
If this is not the type of mod you guys are looking for I understand, it was quite a project and probably a bit extreme, but I wanted a chance to brag =)
