Scott Drotar was born in Northern Indiana in 1986 and was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type II by two years old. His parents were told that he would not likely live beyond three years old and that if he did they shouldn’t expect much from him. Scott has been proving them wrong ever since. Scott graduated as valedictorian of his high school class in 2005 and a bachelor’s in mathematics in 2009 from the University of Notre Dame. He has a master’s degree in quantitative psychology from the University of Kansas, graduating in 2013.
Scott currently lives in a suburb outside of Kansas City where he has developed his own professional speaking program, Roll Models. Through Roll Models, he pursues his mission of helping people by telling stories from his life about growing up with a disability to motivate, inspire, and educate others on living a happy, fulfilling life. He also posts daily to his blog. He hopes that by sharing his thoughts and experiences with others, that he can help people, disabled and able-bodied alike, get the most out of their life as they can.
